Learn how to map graphemes using the IPA!

This skill will help you 'choose and use' phonics programmes more effectively, and send upper primary-aged students to high school able to cope with the reading demands of the high school curriculum.

Students at any stage of the learning to read and spell journey will benefit from seeing text as 'pictures of speech sounds' ie words segmented into the graphemes, to display the universally used (legitimate) grapho-phonemic correspondences. Words not in the Word Bank - eg names - are in red. You can choose how to map them - or email us to map and add!
Type or paste any text, and see the grapheme mapping.
